This extensive Cohasset residence is undergoing a carefully engineered transformation that combines major structural work with thoughtfully designed new living space.

At the heart of the project is the partial reconstruction of the home’s foundation. The existing structure is being temporarily supported and stabilized with structural steel beams, allowing our team to safely work beneath the residence while preserving the home above.

With the building securely supported, the existing crawlspace is being excavated and removed to make way for a new full-height concrete foundation and finished lower level. This process will dramatically increase the usable living space of the home while providing a modern, permanent foundation system beneath the existing structure.

The new foundation will extend beyond the original footprint to accommodate a new addition off the family room, creating a seamless expansion of the main living area and strengthening the connection between the existing home and its new architecture.

Additional exterior improvements include a new front vestibule, designed to enhance both the entry experience and the architectural presence of the home, along with a new dormer at the primary bedroom to introduce additional space, natural light, and character to the upper level.

The finished project will blend extensive structural improvements with carefully integrated architectural additions, allowing the home to gain significant space and functionality while maintaining a cohesive New England residential character.
